Join the Chorus for the Fall 2015 Season
Fox Valley Festival Chorus will begin rehearsals for our new season on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 7:30pm.  If you're interested in joining the chorus, we love welcoming new members!
The Chorus rehearses Mondays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora from September to December for the fall season.  For the fall season we will be learning music for our holiday concerts in December.
St. Mark's is located at 27 S. Edgelawn (at the corner of Galena and Edgelawn Streets) in Aurora.  Although church space is used for rehearsals, the Chorus is not affiliated with any church denomination.  Anyone who has an interest in music is welcome to attend.
No auditions are required for Chorus membership.  Private voice placement interviews may be held by the director.  Members are required to pay dues and purchase specific performance dress.

Chorus Performs at Lincoln Center
On Memorial Day of 2015, members of the Fox Valley Festival Chorus had the honor of performing in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.  Under the baton of esteemed American composer Mark Hayes, the Chorus participated in the performance of Hayes' Requiem as part of a concert entitled "Life and Remembrance."  Being part of a 260 voice chorus accompanied by full orchestra was an amazing experience that will be remembered by all who participated.

Chorus Performs at Carnegie Hall
Members of the Fox Valley Festival Chorus had the honor of performing at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall on Memorial Day 2013.  Music director Mary Beth McCarthy received a formal invitation to perform John Rutter's Requiem under the direction of Rutter himself.  Even McCarthy had the opportunity to step aside from her traditional role of conducting the Chorus and sang as a member of the Chorus.  The group joined seven other groups from throughout the country and the New England Symphonic Emsemble on the Perelman Stage in the Isaac Stern Auditorium.  This amazing opportunity truly energized the Chorus and we were proud to be part of this special event.

"In Flanders Fields"

The Fox Valley Festival Chorus has just released a video recording on YouTube of the famous World War I poem by John McCrae, “In Flanders Fields.” The music was written by Geneva composer, Peter Mitchell, and was first publicly performed in 2006. It has since been widely performed in concerts and Memorial Day services. The Chorus was honored to be asked to perform for this official recording.

Fox Valley Festival Chorus Shares Hope
As a result of our recent concerts Hope: A Celebration in Song, The Fox Valley Festival Chorus was able to present a check for $1000 to Hope for Tomorrow in support of US VETCare, their newest program in Aurora, Illinois. The two concerts held in North Aurora at New Hope Lutheran Church were designated as benefit concerts for the Hope for Tomorrow organization. In addition to a portion of the ticket proceeds, the Chorus also donated 100% of the sale of Honor Tickets to Hope for Tomorrow.  People donated money in honor of those who had served in the U.S. Armed Forces past and present.
